Food...

on khmer food: delicious! we ate pretty much everywhere and everything. with some exceptions: we did not try the famous skun grilled spiders ("a-ping") - driving through skun, a look was enough to ensure we would not be tempted to buy a bag of tarantulas. neither did we eat penis bull (whatever that is) or intestine salad. grilled snake or rat was not offered to us this time (on the last trip i refused the rat, but had fried crickets and earthworms which were not too bad). none of us got sick, even if we literally ate everywhere, in markets, on the streets and in the typical khmer eateries, characterised by colourful plastic chairs on the sidewalk - surely a lot of those places did not comply with western hygiene standards, but the food was great (and cheap).
